NFL DRAFT 2023
Here are John's and Andy's picks in the 2023 NFL draft the Green Bay Packers select Michael Mayer Tight end at Notre Dame.
The last time the Packers drafted a tight end in the first round was in 2000 when they selected Bubba Franks with the 14th overall pick. The Packers need tight end help and Mayer is one of the Top 15 players in this draft and is pro-ready.
Brian Branch, Safety, Alabama
Branch has the footwork and fluid athleticism to man the nickel position at the next level. On top of his ability in coverage, Branch is an excellent open-field tackler and is fearless coming downhill..
Myles Murphy, EDGE Clemson
Murphy has the physicality and length to set a strong edge, and his ability to convert first-step explosion into power. Production is a concern, but it was the same question surrounding Gary.
Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU
Drafting Johnston and playing him alongside Christian Watson could allow the Packers to utilize Watson’s skill set even more in the offense. Quentin Johnston would be a major upgrade from Allen Lazard, who could not prove that he was a No. 1 or a No. 2 WR.
Tyree Wilson, DE/OLB/Edge, Texas Tech
Tyree will help the Packers D turn it around in 2023. This is a similar strategy that the SF 49ers took in building their #1 defense. Draft the D-line in the 1st round. Guty needs to follow a blueprint that works.
